The 2025 Africa SACCO Regulatory Round Table (RRT) - Addis Ababa

The 2025 Africa SACCO Regulatory Round Table (RRT) conference kicked off on Tuesday, 24 June, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia under the theme "Strengthening SACCOs Regulation for Financial Stability".

RRT is a special session where regulators in Africa discuss and collectively share practical experience when implementing Sacco specific regulatory framework and also stir a discourse on reducing financial exclusion and enhancing financial stability through the SACCO Business Model

The high level conference brought together SACCO regulators, industry experts, developmental partners and Cooperatives leaders from across Africa and Beyond to deliberate on enhancing regulatory frameworks for Financial Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs).

Malawi was represented by the SACCO apex body — MUSCCO's Chief Executive Officer Mr. Fumbani Nyangulu  and Reserve Bank of Malawi officials. Key objectives during this year's gathering include addressing regulatory challenges, building a stable SACCO environment, exploring policy and legal frameworks, and promoting a comprehensive risk management approach.
