SACCOs Sister Society Chapter 2 Donates Food and School Supplies to Chikondi Orphanage in Kawale Lilongwe.

In a heartwarming act of generosity, the Malawi SACCO Sister Society Chapter 2 has extended vital support to Chikondi Orphanage, reaffirming its commitment to the welfare of vulnerable children in Malawi.

The donation, valued at MK1.5 million, included maize, beans, rice, soya pieces, sugar, salt, and school materials such as exercise books. The contribution was handed over to Chikondi Orphanage, located in Kawale, Lilongwe.

Speaking during the presentation, the Society’s Chairperson, Mphatso, underscored the organization’s commitment to addressing food insecurity and enhancing access to education for children in need.

“As a Society, we believe in uplifting our communities. Supporting Chikondi Orphanage is a way of ensuring that these children have access to food and education, which are the foundation of a brighter future,” said Mphatso.

Based in Kawale, Lilongwe, Chikondi Orphanage provides food, shelter, medical care, and education to orphaned children. The centre currently supports 30 resident children and extends outreach to additional children in Kawale and parts of Chilinde. Guided by a vision of building a self-sustaining eco-community, Chikondi Orphanage aims to empower children for long-term independence and community development.
